I'll be on site with Stu at about 1400hrs or so. Just turn up some time around that, or later. There's not a huge amount to be done and Stu and I will do most of that anyway. All that really needs to be done, apart from what I'll handle, is to set the booby trap on the hut.

I'm just about to phone the site owners and confirm numbers at 13 (possibly 14 if Jay comes).

You guys can drive up to the safezone and park there too, no need to hang around on the bottom car park.

I'll bring a few CiA direction signs to put on the road so they don't miss the entrance.

There will be paintballers on site on saturday but it won't affect our setup at all. They will be long gone by the time our punters arrive. There will also be 40 paintballers on site on sunday but, again, they won't impact on us at all and will be gone before we finish. We should hardly see them, as the areas we're using are 95% away from the paintball fields. It's actually quite convenient when it comes to paying our fees, as we can just hand them over to the site manager.

The site manager will arrive around 0800hrs, by which time we'll be up, dressed, have had breakfast, moved the cars back down to the main car park and have begun the training proper. The paintball punters won't arrive until after 0830hrs and, with all of the faffing they do, won't be out playing until around 1000hrs, well after we've moved off into the woods.

At Webby's Pocket game there was a genny and floodlight for the safezone. I'm guessing that was part of Manning's set up - he had a big tent in the SZ.

Well done Pete (& Stu!) - all the time and effort was WELL worthwhile. Punters enjoyed it - I enjoyed it, so a big thank you. I'm really glad I'm on the German side where, although we will be walking long distances, we won't have to carry more than the minimum fighting gear!

Yes, nice one guys. I'm sorry I wasn't really with it. I was so incredibly tired. I nearly fell asleep on the way home, and had to go straight to bed when I got back.

I was in bed by 2200hrs myself. I had about 2 hours sleep on saturday night and that was very fractured. Not too bad today, mind. Barring some aches in my thighs, I feel fine. I thought I might be pushing myself a bit too hard but, it looks like the meningitis hasn't taken everything from me! Managed a full day at work today without any dramas too. I was very careful to pace the training day so as not to kill anyone and, also to ensure the type of posts we're getting on the thread about it not being too hard, hopefully to sway people to book for Jedburgh, who might have had reservations about it being too tough.

Neill Blume asked me if I thought he could cut it and I said it was up to him to decide.

He was struggling to get up at times with his knees. I really think he'd be better as SAS, but don't want to tell him what to do.

I did. I told him that if he's unwilling, or unable to get down on his belly every time he stopped, with a bergen on, he was wasting his time as a Jed'. Frankly, I think he's wasting his time as SAS too but, hey, he's a paying, loyal "customer".

Edit - By the way, I just spoke to the site owner and he's delighted that we didn't burn the place to the ground or leave any mess. So, we have an open invite to do more days there, with overnight camping should we want it. That's a bit of a coup for us, because manning and his gay boy band of bummers will never be allowed to camp there again.
